Why buy products from organic farming

Why buy products from organic farming. Simple, it is a healthy and sustainable agricultural production system that respects the environment. It does not use synthetic chemicals (fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, pesticides) for soil fertilization, for the fight against weeds, animal pests and plant diseases; and it also prohibits the use of genetically modified organisms (OGM).

It uses traditional, essentially preventive practices, selecting disease-resistant local species and intervening with appropriate cultivation techniques.

The main ones are:
  • crop rotation avoids growing the same plant for several seasons in a row on the same soil, so as to prevent pests and weeds from adapting and proliferating in a favourable environment. At the same time, soil nutrients are used more rationally and less intensively.
  • planting hedges and trees recreates the landscape, gives hospitality to natural predators of parasites and acts as a physical barrier against external pollution.
  • the consociation consists in growing different plants at the same time, one unwelcome to the pests of the other.

In organic farming, natural fertilizers, such as manure, other composted organic substances (mowing, etc.) and solvency are used. Green manhood consists in incorporating specially sown plants, such as clover or mustard, into the soil, thus enriching them with substances useful to increase their fertility.
